Frequently asked questions
No, you cannot get VAC banned for using CSReplay. The software never injects, modifies, or interferes with the Counter-Strike game client. Instead, it uses Valve’s official Game State Integration (GSI) system, which is the same safe method tournament organizers and other tools use to read game events. In other words: the game is just telling us what’s happening, and we’re turning that into smooth replays for you. Since CSReplay only listens to information that the game itself is allowed to share, there is no risk of punishment from VAC or other anti-cheat systems like FACEIT.
Yes, your skins are 100% safe. CSReplay never asks for your Steam login, trade permissions, or API key, meaning we don’t (and can’t) touch your items. Everything you own stays in your Steam account the whole time. We know skins are valuable, sometimes even worth thousands, so we designed CSReplay with security in mind from the start. Unlike shady sites or programs that ask you to “sign in with Steam” or hand over trade rights, CSReplay simply doesn’t work that way. It only connects to the game for match data, nothing more. So whether you have a couple of budget skins or are a big trader, you can rest easy knowing your skins are safe and untouchable by us.
Not at all. CSReplay is very lightweight because it only listens to match data that the game is already outputting. It doesn’t run heavy background processes or try to capture video directly from your game. That means no FPS drops, no lag spikes, and no weird stuttering. Your game will run exactly the same as if CSReplay wasn’t there. We specifically built it this way because we know how important performance is for competitive players, you don’t want anything slowing you down during a clutch.
Yes, CSReplay is safe to use everywhere. Because it doesn’t interfere with the game client or provide any unfair advantage, it’s treated just like overlays or stream integrations. Whether you’re playing matchmaking, FACEIT, ESEA, or even in tournaments, CSReplay simply listens to match data and triggers replays, nothing that organizers or anti-cheat systems could consider cheating. Basically, if you’re allowed to stream, you’re allowed to use CSReplay.
Yes, and that’s actually the main reason we built it. CSReplay integrates seamlessly with OBS and Streamer.bot, so you can have instant replays automatically during your live stream. It’s designed to make your stream look professional while letting you stay focused on playing.
We only collect the minimum information needed to validate your CSReplay license. When you use CSReplay, your SteamID and Steam display name are sent to our server so we can confirm that your license is valid. That’s it, we don’t request your Steam login, trade permissions, or access to your inventory. Beyond license validation, CSReplay only uses the official Counter-Strike GSI match data (like round state, and kills), which is processed locally on your PC. We don’t sell, share, or use your information for anything outside of keeping your license active and CSReplay running smoothly.
Yes. CSReplay is built on Valve’s official GSI system, which is designed to be stable and supported across updates. Even when the game gets patched, GSI almost always stays the same. On the rare chance that something changes, we release quick updates to make sure everything keeps running smoothly.
